So this is the story of how French is ruining my dream job.
I don’t know if most of you know that I’m studying a bachelor degree in Translation and English literature,and this is my last year at university.
So a friend of mine sent me a mail in which FIFA needs a translator.
FIFA!!! FIFA!!

One of the request is that you have to be a Spanish native speaker (fuck yeah!) and your job is to translate and write some football articles.
When I read this I was like-OMG!OMG!OMFG!! THIS IS WHAT I WANT TO DO!! THIS IS WHY I WANNA BE A TRANSLATOR! AND THIS HAS BEEN ALWAYS MY DREAM JOB, BECAUSE FOOTBALL IS EVERYTHING TO ME!! AND WORKING FOR FIFA OR FOR ANYTHING THAT INVOLVES FOOTBALL IS LIKE HEAVEN TO ME!

Oh and I forgot to say that you have to go to Zurich.

So yes, I got a little excited…until I read that I have to know German…perfectly!
I’m learning German and I just know the basics, but I thought-well I could get better, that’s no problem and I’ve enjoyed learning German so far.
But what killed my dreams was that I have to know French as well and the bad thing is that I don’t like French so of course I don’t know a damn thing of French.
